Smaen’s Cargo System Rework v5.0 for ETS2
This mod enhances reefer and insulated trailers, enabling them to carry dryvan cargo. It also permits dryvan and reefer trailers to transport ADR (hazardous) cargo typically designated for curtainsider trailers. Moreover, curtainsiders and sideboard flatbeds can now haul a wider variety of flatbed cargo types, as well as new sidedoor trailers. Lowbed trailers can handle selected flatbed cargo, while flatbed trailers can transport certain lowbed cargo types. The mod introduces new body types for sidedoor box trailers, walking/moving floor trailers, and curtainsider reefers. Support is also added for ATS body types like dropdeck flatbed, chipvan, and hopper trailers. There are significant improvements on how certain heavy machinery, such as excavators, is loaded onto lowbed trailers, ensuring proper orientation. It also removes unnecessary width extensions on lowbed and lowloader trailers for cargoes that shouldn’t feature them.
Many of these updates extend to modded trailers, as long as they maintain a vanilla body type (like ‘reefer’, ‘dryvan’, ‘lowbed’, ‘curtainside’, etc.). This mod can also be utilized in Convoy mode as an optional addition, allowing multiplayer players to see cargo without needing the mod. However, changes in cargo loading for lowbed trailers won’t sync with players who don’t have the mod active. Jobs within the World of Trucks (External Market) are generated by SCS servers and will only present default cargo options, even when this mod is active. It’s important to note that the mod does not create new cargo types, but instead makes existing cargo available for more suitable trailer categories.
ADR signs are supported exclusively on certain vanilla and DLC trailers. **New body types necessitate trailers specifically designed for this mod, which requires an additional addon. While not all new body types will be actively used, they are accessible for mod creators. Changes regarding lowbed cargo orientation apply only to SCS and DLC trailers, along with modded trailers using these body types; some cargo types might not have been adjusted due to game limitations.
In the cargo definition files, support for additional custom body_types has been incorporated. This incorporates, among others, dropdeck and hopper from ATS (which is beneficial if you’re using mods adding ATS trailers to ETS2, or if you have other mods providing similar trailers in ETS2), as well as sidedoor and moving floor trailers. This enhancement allows other mods access to more suitable cargo options.
