Smaen’s Cargo System Rework v5.1 1.56 ETS2
This mod aims to enhance the selection of cargo types and ensure a more realistic distribution of available options.
In the base game, reefer trailers cannot carry general dry cargo, and sideboard flatbed trailers are restricted from hauling standard flatbed cargo. This mod resolves these restrictions, among others, providing players with expanded cargo types suitable for their trailers.
With this mod, numerous trailers are enabled to carry a wider variety of cargo options that are typically designated for specific trailer types, even when they are suitable for broader use.
– Enables reefer and insulated trailers to transport dryvan cargo
– Permits dryvan and reefer trailers to carry ADR (hazardous) cargo otherwise limited to curtainsider trailers*
– Allows curtainsiders and sideboard flatbeds to carry most flatbed cargo types as well as new sidedoor trailers**
– Lets lowbed trailers transport select flatbed cargo types, and flatbed trailers haul certain lowbed cargo types
– Introduces new body types for sidedoor box trailers, walking/moving floor trailers, and curtainsider reefer**
– Provides cargo support for ATS body types such as dropdeck flatbed, chipvan, and hopper trailers**
– Fixes the loading process of heavy machinery and other cargo on lowbed trailers, ensuring correct orientations for excavators and similar equipment***
– Disables unnecessary width extensions on lowbed and lowloader trailers for cargoes that should not feature them
Notes:
Most amendments apply to modded trailers, provided they utilize a vanilla body type (like ‘reefer’, ‘dryvan’, ‘lowbed’, ‘curtainside’ etc.)
This mod is compatible with Convoy as an optional addition. Cargoes can be hauled in multiplayer, and all players will see the cargo, even if they do not have the mod. However, the changes to how cargo loads on lowbed trailers will not sync with users lacking the mod.
Jobs from World of Trucks (External Market) are generated via SCS servers and will only provide default cargo selections, even when this mod is active.
This mod does not introduce new cargo types; it merely makes existing cargo accessible for more suitable trailer types.
ADR signs are only supported on specific vanilla and DLC trailers.
New body types necessitate trailers specifically designed for this mod and may require additional add-ons. Not all new body types are currently in use, but they are available for mod developers.
The lowbed cargo orientation change applies solely to SCS trailers and DLC trailers, as well as modded trailers that utilize these bodies. Not all cargo has been adjusted due to game limitations.

How to install ETS2 mods or ATS Mods
Installing mods in Euro Truck Simulator 2 is straightforward. Simply download the mod from here, then copy/unzip the files into: “My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod” folder, or if using ATS, place them in: “My Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod” folder. To unzip files, you can utilize WinRAR or 7zip. Afterward, activate the mods you wish to use.
