ETS2 1.62 update is out: what's new and what it means for your mods

The Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.62 update was released on Steam on 5 November 2026. It's a free update for everyone who owns the game. It brings new truck garages across the whole map, three special DAF XG+ editions, the improved interior lighting for the Iveco S-Way, new Goodyear paint jobs and a longer stream-safe radio station. Below is everything SCS Software announced, plus what the update means for your mods, ProMods and TruckersMP.

1. Release date and video

SCS Software released version 1.62 on 5 November 2026, after an open beta that started on 22 October. Steam downloads it automatically the next time you start the game, unless you've set the game to an older version (see mods after 1.62). SCS also posted a short changelog video:

2. New garages across the map

The biggest change you'll see on the road: every truck garage has a new model, on the base map and in all map DLCs. SCS gave American Truck Simulator the same treatment in 1.58, and now ETS2's garages, some of them many years old, match the newer parts of the map. They have new outsides and new insides, with more detail, so upgrading from a small garage to a big one should feel more like your company is growing.

SCS says it kept performance in mind: it aimed to keep the new garages' performance cost in check compared with the old models, while making them look better.

3. DAF XG+ Emerald, Sapphire and 30 Years in Czechia

4. Iveco S-Way: Improved Material System

SCS keeps rolling out its Improved Material System to truck interiors, and the Iveco S-Way is the latest one. The cab gets better lighting, with a focus on how the different interior materials react to light.

Using an Iveco S-Way interior or dashboard mod? It may look wrong or clash with the new materials until its author updates it.

5. Goodyear Tyres Pack and Game Radio

Goodyear Tyres Pack: the paint jobs now use Goodyear's updated branding, with the latest logo and slightly changed colours.

Game Radio, Escape station: Escape is the only stream-safe station in the in-game radio, so it's the one to use if you stream or record on YouTube or Twitch. SCS removed tracks that caused copyright problems and added 11 new songs, so it now runs about as long as the other stations.

6. Mods after 1.62: what to check

Every game update can break mods. As of 6 November 2026, the mods on this site list 1.61 as their game version; we'll update each badge when its author confirms 1.62. Here's how to update without losing your save:

1. Back up your profile firstCopy the profiles folder (and steam_profiles if you use Steam Cloud) from Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2 before you start 1.62.
2. Check the big mods firstMap mods, physics, graphics and sound packs, and anything that touches garages or the Iveco S-Way interior, are the most likely to need an update. Open each mod's official page from our site: the version badge shows what its author lists.
3. Look at the Mod ManagerThe game marks mods made for an older version. Many small mods (skins, trailers, sounds) still work; turn off anything that crashes or looks wrong.
4. Crashed?Switch all mods off, start the game, then add them back a few at a time. Paste your game.log.txt into our crash-log checker to see which mod caused it.
5. Need 1.61 a bit longer?In Steam, right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2, then Properties, then Game Versions & Betas, and pick the 1.61 version if it's listed. Switch back to the default once your mods are updated.

7. ProMods and TruckersMP
