About this mod
Realistic Rain overhauls how rain looks and sounds from the cab. Drops on the windscreen and side windows are higher resolution and more numerous, they behave more naturally on the glass, and wheel spray on wet tarmac looks more convincing for both your truck and AI traffic.
Rain sounds now follow the intensity of the shower, and around 20 thunder sounds play with a realistic 1 to 5 second delay. It works with all map DLCs and map mods. The author lists versions 1.54 to 1.61 as supported.

How to install Realistic Rain
- Open the mod's Steam Workshop page (sign in to Steam if asked) and press Subscribe. Steam downloads it for you.
- Start Euro Truck Simulator 2. On the profile screen, open the Mod Manager.
- Find Realistic Rain in the list and move it to Active mods, then press Confirm changes.
Load order: Give it high priority: above weather/graphics mods, map mods and sound mods.
Notes for this mod
- Needs the game's DirectX 11 renderer (the default).
- Switch off your truck's automatic rain sensor wipers: they don't cope well with the extra drops.
- After adding or removing sound mods, fully restart the game if sounds act strangely.
Known conflicts
- Can't be combined with "Cold Rain": only the higher one in the list works.
- Autumn Seasons by Grimes switches off its thunder.
- Works with Sound Fixes Pack.
